Bell High School Futsal Tournament

                    On February 20, 2010 Bell High School invites you to participate in:
                            The fourth annual high school Futsal challenge (indoor soccer)
                                                   varsity HIGH SCHOOL Boys & Girls Divisions
FUTSAL: Futsal is a sport in full development across Canada and around the world. It is commonly referred to five-a-side indoor soccer and is the only indoor soccer recognized by FIFA , the world governing body of soccer. It is played on a court slightly bigger than a basketball court. No dasher boards or walls are utilized. Out of bounds are enforced when the ball crosses over the side and end lines. The ball is a special low bounce ball and is smaller than a regular size soccer ball. Futsal is the BEST way to teach our youth the proper fundamentals of soccer. It is a game that focuses on soccer skill development and complete teamwork.

COACHES : Prepare your team for the outdoor soccer season. Use this tournament to work on your players fundamentals. This Event is an excellent way to gauge the skill level of your players. This is a unique opportunity for players, coaches, team managers to experience Futsal first hand. This will allow you to see how the game enhances the soccer skill of all youth players.

Entry fee: $200/team ($250/team for those registered after the January 29th deadline)
Tournament Format: Each team is guaranteed at least 3 games (each game consists of two 20-minute halves).

Eligibility: Teams must consist of currently registered students at their school for the 2009/2010 school year.

Play: Games will be played in the gyms at Bell High School and Confederation High School. Court play consists of our players plus goal keeper with unlimited substitutions. Each team may have up to a maximum of 12 players.

Awards: Trophy and medals for 1st and 2nd place winners.
