St. Mark Lions win their first tier 1 title (AA)over the Ashbury Colts in a match of opposite game-plans. With a speedy set of skilled backs the Colts looked to get the ball out to the backs as a first choice. The Lions on the other hand would look to their strength in the forwards and play a tight game...bringing the ball inside as a first choice.
The game saw several lead changes with neither team being able to get a substantial hold until late in the game. With the Colts up 14-10 at half, the Lions would score two second half tries to complete the comeback. The game was close with the Lions holding a 15-14 lead for the last 15 min of the game, until Lions forward Eric Jadowski pushed over the try line to put the game out of reach with less then 2 min to go. Final score 22-14 in favour of the Lions...and a first Tier 1 Championship in the schools history. This was a close game to the very end...one fitting of a championship.
