A great win for the Saints. A tough loss for the Spartans. At 4:30pm the battle of persistence, commitment, and sustained defence began. Prior to that, it was all Spartan domination. After being out-scored, and strangled by a resilient defence, the Saints regrouped and refocused their commitment to sustained defence for every remaining minute. A few back-to-back turnovers for the Spartans lead to a turn of momentum in the game. A few more late offensive rebounds had the score tied and the game reeling out of control for the Spartans. (SIDE NOTE: is it really an offensive rebound if the ball rolls 4 inches off of the rim into your big soft hands. Great job MAC)
This win gives MAC some good momentum into the playoffs. Another close win demonstrates their tenacity and sustained defence "no matter what".
Ridgemont Spartans take this loss to heart after giving up a 15 point lead, but allows them to understand that they can compete with anyone. They will refocus and recommit themselves to turning the corner just in time to make some noise in the playoffs.
